The Geology Department was established in the year 1985. The Department offers four year undergradutae B. Sc. courses in Geoscience as recommended under NEP 2020. The department has a strength of 4 experienced Faculty Members with 3 Ph.D. and 1 M. Phil. In addition to regular courses, the Department conducts field works and project works to enhance students’ practical skills and knowledge in Geoscience. The Department also conducts multidisciplinary national and international workshops and webinars in order to update the student’s knowledge in emerging fields of geoscience.
As an initiative to develop research calibres of the students, the Department wall magazine "Pa-Hoi-Hoi" is published every year on Teacher’s Day. The Department has an association named as Gargaon College Geological Forum which actively conducts various partcipative learning programs.
