Profile of Education Department

The Department of Education is one of the oldest departments, established in the year 1964 with four permanent faculty members and two guest faculty.  At present four faculty members of the department have Ph.D degree disseminating and imparting knowledge and assisting the students in the learning process.

Best Practices of the Department

  • To provide information on best practices in teaching
  • Active Learning
  • Concept Mapping
  • Psychological  Counselling  to the needy students having  mental health issues
  • Financial Aid to poor and meritorious students
  • Involving students in social activities such as flood relief ,plantation, gardening and teaching poor students of the neighbouring area

  • To provide quality education to rural students.
  • To develop students' academic, social and emotional skills 
  • To foster community engagement and social responsibility.
  • To prepare student for success in career and lifelong learning.
  • To provide student the knowledge of child psychology, mental hygiene and teaching skills

Future Plan of the Department
The Department of Education has long term future plans for the growth and development which are as follows-. 
  • To provide more employment opportunity to the students of the Department of Education.
  • Development of a well-equipped Psychological Laboratory.
  • Introducing integrated B.ED. programmes in the Department
